 Stroganov Alexander Sergeyevich, count 1734-27.09.1811Chamberlain, senator, President of the Academy of Arts, executive director of the Imperial libraries, marshal of StPetersburg nobility. Belonged to the select circle of Catherine II's and Paul I's trusted friends. Renowned patron of art, collector; headed the commission on construction of the Kazan Cathedral. Was married twice: to Countess Anna Mikhailovna Vorontsova (1743-1769) and Princess Ekaterina Petrovna Trubetskaya (1744-1815) who bore him an only son Pavel.
