Thomas de Thomon Jean
Thomas de Thomon Jean 1760-1813 French architect, worked in Russia from 1799 onwards. His major creation is the ensemble of the Spit of Vasilievsky Island including the building of the Stock Exchange and the descent to the Neva with two Rostral Columns. Brilliant graphic artist, author of headstone designs. The architect's granite gravestone in the form of an altar is very likely to have been produced to his design. |
