Kozlovsky Mikhail Ivanovich 26.10.1753-18.09.1802
Sculptor, professor of the Imperial Academy of Arts. Prominent master of Russian Classicism (sculpture of the "Samson" fountain of the Grand Cascade in Peterhof, monument to A.V.Suvorov on the Field of Mars, gravestone of PI.Melissino in the St. Lasarus's burial vault, etc.).
The gravestone in the form of a marble altar with a bas-relief portrait, allegorical relief of Genius with attributes of Sculpure and Glory and a poetical epitaph, was created by Kozlovsky's pupil V.I.Demut-Malinovsky in 1803. The original relief was replaced with a copy.
