Arkharov Ivan Petrovich 1745-1815

Infantry General, military governor of Moscow. Was respected by his exclusive honesty, generosity and open-mindedncss. Exercised poor control over the discipline of the Moscow garrison soldiers who were nicknamed "the arkharovs" (this word became a common noun). His wife Ekaterina Alexandrovna, born Rimskaya-Korsakova (1755-1836), grandmother of the writer V.A Sollogub, is buried alongside her husband.
 
The granite sarcophagi with bronze plates were made in the same workshop. 1830s.
