Yakovlev (Sobakin) Sawa Yakovlevich 1712-1784
Tax-fanner, manufacturer. Native of the town of Ostashkov, Tver province; engaged in fish trade. Owner of the Yaroslavl linen factory and many ironworks in the Urals. Was ennobled by Peter III. He built, at his own expense, the Dormition church on Sennaya Square (was blown up in 1962).
The gravestone in the form of a marble sarcophagus with a gilded bronze binding and allegorical reliefs "Commerce" and "Piety" was produced in v-the workshop of Jacob Semmelgak. 1785.
