BLAGOVESCHENSKAYA BURIAL VAULT
The Blagoveshchenskaya church constructed in 1717-1725 under order of Peter I, is the first stone temple of St.-Petersburg. Under the legend the church has been consecrated by Peter I.

NIKOLSKOE CEMETERY

NECROPOLIS of the XVIII CENTURY (the St.Lazarus cemetery)
The present section is dedicated to one of the most interesting expositions of the State Museum of Urban Sculpture - the Necropolis of the 18th century and Necropolis of the Masters of Arts.
Hundreds of names of remarkable people from the past, carved in granite and marble monuments in these cemeteries, make them a certain chronicle of history of our city and state, and magnificent monuments created by renowned masters of St. Petersburg turn them to a museum of fine arts in the open air. NECROPOLIS OF THE MASTERS OF ARTS
The Memorial park of the Masters of Arts was opened in August 1937 on the territory whose development began since the early days of the existence of the Alexander Nevsky monastery.
In March 1823, due to the close space and shortage of area of the existing St. Lazarus's (Lazarevskoye) cemetery (now the Necropolis of the eighteenth century), the chancellery of the Alexander Nevsky monastery proposed to "establish a similar cemetery". COMMUNISTIC PLATFORM
The first burial places before a church of the Troitsky cathedral have begun in July, 1917. There were tombs of the Cossacks who were lost at dispersal of Bolshevist demonstration. Accordingly the cemetery also was called - Cossachie. Since 1918 here began to bury famous Bolsheviks, and the Cossack cemetery have renamed into the Communistic platform. More

The Duhovskaya church has been found on June, 6th, 1820. The burial vault was builded in the church initially. By the end of XX-th century they were 172 burial places there.
The Duhovskaya church has been closed on November, 1935, and only some escaped monuments in 1937 have been transferred to the Blagoveshchenskaya and Lazarevskaya burial vaults. More

The church of sacred Isidor Pelusiot — a burial vault of metropolitan Isidor has been attached from the altar part of Fedorovskaya church in 1889-1891. Over 150 burial places has been spent in this church. Almost all of them are lost, some details of monuments which have been transferred to the Blagoveshchensk tomb have remained only. More

Necropolis of the St. Alexander Nevsky Lavra of the Holy Trinity is devided into 4 cemeterys: Necropolis of the XVIII century (the St.Lazarus cemetery),Nectopolis of the Masters of Arts (Tikhvinskoe cemetery), Nikolskoe cemetery and Kommunisticheskoe (Kazach'e) cemetery.
