 Rossi Carl Ivanovich 18.12.1775-06.04.1849Architect, master of the St. Petersburg Empire style. Among his works are most important city ensembles: the Mikhailovsky Palace and Arts Square, Alexandrinsky Theatre, buildings of the General Headquarters on Palace Square, Senate and Synod on Decembrists Square, etc. The gravestone in the form of a granite stele, shared with Leontina Rossi (1800-1846), is supposed to have been erected to the architect's own drawing before 1849.
