Zavadovsky Piotr Vasilievich, count 1739-1812

Secretary of Count P.A.Rumiantsev who was engaged in the Russo-Turkish war of 1769-1774. In 1775 was a favourite of Empress Catherine II. Later was the Chairman of the Commission for People's Schools, director of the Loan Bank, first executive of the Ministry of People's Education, Chairman of the Law Department of the State Council.
The gravestone in the form of a portico with a sculptural group (sculptor G. Camberlain) was built at the own expense of his widow Vera Nikolayevna, born Apraksina, in 1812.
